I love shooting my marlins even thou i dont have the 45/70 yet, looking for a older 1894 in 357 w/ hex barrel currently but may have to change my wants, i do have the 444 and i will never forget the first time i took it out ,put 9 rounds in it back to back and my old artritist shoulder let me know about it the next day but was fun.

I like my 444 Ballard riffling with 330 grain cast gas check and a stout load of reloader7. Don't have one in 4570 but did have one in a handi rifle I loaded up it let you know

CriticalBass used to talk about using a .375 H&H as a deer rifle. I asked him if he was kidding and he wasn't.
Slow burning powder, measured recoil, neat little unexpanded hole in the deer. Didn't ruin as much meat as a 6mm bullet.
To each his own.
