Flash forward to ..RIGHT NOW. WOW!!! I didn't know everyone and their dog made an AR15!!!! I know my friends in Houston shoot Daniel Defense, Noveske and LaRue AR's.

Your friends in Houston are shooting top tier hardware. They come with the price tag to match but will hold value. As will Colt which is a bit more reasonable and still solid rifles.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned BCM https://bravocompanymfg.com/

I consider them pretty close to top tier and they should also hold their value. Another that gets overlooked is S&W M&P15 (not the sport models but the LE models.)

Aero and Sionics sound like what you are looking for.

I know you don't want to hear this but it all depends what you want to spend and what you want to use it for. There has never been a better time to get an AR15 that now. Even with all the threats of a ban they are everywhere. There is no shortage currently. The market new and used is saturated right now and you can buy either easily.

There is going to be a big difference in guns between a $400-$500 Anderson or PSA and other entry level guns and a $1500 gun. Part of the price increase will be in options the other part will be in quality of manufacturing, and materials.

As for Wannamacher they will have guys probably selling $399 full rifles that will probably last the average shooter a long time. They will also have guys trying to sell similar rifles for a lot more than that. You have to be careful there or you can get screwed.

The 3 guns you listed that your buddies had are all top end guns. If your only going to have one might as well buy one like they have is my suggestion.
