@druryj it is much different than it was back in the early days of OSA. Thankfully you can block the folks that only show up once every 5 days to spam their wares.

True dat. this topic does come up every now and then, but as was said, if the topic bugs you, well, nobody is making anybody read this. As a Mod I do have to deal with disgruntled members sometimes because someone either didn't show up, the merchandise was not as advertised, or some such things. Please understand there isn't much we can do to combat the unscrupulous among us. I remember one of my first transactions here, I was a noob and thought surely nobody who is a member would rip me off? Wrong. I got burned. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice; shame on me. I have learned to look at post count and substance, if I don't know the member, and I have yet to be burned again. I avoid those who only use OSA to post their crap for sale, and deal with those who are members of not just the site, but who actually participate. Those who are, as I like to say, members of the OSA community. I betcha lots of us do it like this; especially the ones who have been around awhile.

I think the whole cash price vs trade price is like what the car dealership does. Gotta build value on the trade-in.

I see it plenty, but what tickles me is the for sale $500 but wants $750 in trade value..

Some individuals' cash asking price ($500) is less than the retail value of the item($750) because they prefer a quick cash sale. If you are taking an item in trade when you preferred a cash sale, why trade down for an item valued at $500?

I've been burned twice, both by members with substantial posts because I thought trusting them in a mail transaction when they told me the money was in the mail, I shipped the product to cross paths down the highway somewhere. Both times the money never arrived and the product got "stolen from the front porch or lost in the shipping process" even though I showed it delivered. You know who you are.......
Money in hand now before the product is shipped or FTF. I've done less than 10 transactions in the classifieds in all my years on this forum. Normally just delete the entire forum in the evening when getting online so it's not cluttering up the latest posts forum. Tapatalk is great for doing that.
