GOA's prewritin email; put in your info then you see the email.

Thanks. I re-wrote a bit of that letter. It was basically laced with political threats that in essence, said “you either vote in our favor or else, (meaning if you don’t vote in out favor, you won’t be elected next term). No one wants to get an “or else” letter. I can understand why most of them are never read.

I worded it to reflect that I was asking for their vote and help, but not groveling at their feet or making threats either.

I figure politicians know who the GOA is and what they stand for, and can guess at the content of their emails and post cards, so they don't ever read them.
But if they get 100,000 of them, they might give it some thought.

I used one of those forms once and got a response (I think from Kevin Hern, but can't remember for sure) that basically said it looked like it came from a form like that, and they didn't pay any attention to them. Please call our office to express your opinion.

Keep in mind that since Bloomberg and his money have joined the fight, the other side is using the same email tactics, so I'm not sure where that leaves us.

I didn't have a problem with the message in the GOA e-mail. It was just stating that actions have consequences. What I consider a threat is this..." Hell yes we're going to take your AR-15 your AK-47". That my friends is a threat!!!

Trump threw cold water on the gun control band wagon today...
From https://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald...ions-are-going-very-slowly-senate-2019-09-19/

"I am, if it's not going to hurt a good, solid, great American citizen from keeping his weapon because they want that and they are entitled to that. We have a Second Amendment. I don't want to have crazy people have guns. I don't want to have bad people have guns, but we're going to do nothing to hurt the Second Amendment, and what we want to do is see if we can come up with a compromise, and that's what we're working on."

I wonder what in the world a compromise like he mentions looks like . . . especially one that "the other side" would be happy with.
