I can't believe those guys that are taking a scoped rifle into thick cover and just point shooting as they charge!
Yep, neither is a smart move in that hunting environment.I heard that last guy go click like he didn’t have a round chambered
Me too. I have a couple AR platforms that far exceed the performance of a 5.56. One of them is a 12 ga.I understand what you are saying but I prefer the knock down power of a larger rifle or a good shotgun slug.
Got one as well. They will put the thump on anything. This is why I still have a Ruger 44 Carbine; semi-auto 44 Magnum 265 grain softpoints moving at 1700fps. I may never get to try it on hogs and end up trading it, but it's ready if that ever comes up.
Those all appear to be European, so an AR more than likely wasn’t an option. Those hunts also looked like “driven” hunts, so the boars are being purposely pushed to or past the hunters. Most folks I know over there boar hunt with 9.3x62 or 9.3x74r, and from personal experience, they aren’t undergunned. I’ve got rifles in both calibers and have killed a bunch of stuff with them.
