I have a 2000 Mustang and the paint on the roof and hood is in pretty bad shape. I can't justify a paint job which would cost more than the car is worth, but a coworker mentioned plastidip as an option. I looked into it and the cost seems reasonable (<$1000), but I'm having trouble finding shops in Tulsa that actually do it. Anybody here know of reputable shops in the Tulsa area? Also, if anybody has had it done to their own vehicle some pics would be appreciated. Thanks!

Could you wrap it?

I thought about it, but the average price looked to be around $2000. Still more than I’d like to spend for a car that’s not worth much more than that right now. It’s fun and dependable, but not very valuable if I were to sell it. $1000 is about the most I’ll put into it for cosmetics.

Assuming it's white or black:
A little wet sanding and a few coats of Rust-o-leum Auto Body spray paint would clean it up and last for several years..

As someone whom has DONE Plastidip on my own car (did my wheels, undid my wheels, just replaced my wheels), I would recommend a basic sandjob, primer and Rust-o-leum as recommended above. Plastidip on your hood and roof won't last, in my opinion, more than a few months at most. Don't waste the money getting someone else to do it.

There are plenty of videos on how to do it yourself. That's probably the best way to save any real money with plasti-dip.

Did you did the spray can, or the one that you use a paint Gun? I was told that the one with the paint gun is a lot better quality.
