Just set your answering machine to pick up on the second ring. Leave a message that says hello in friendly terms. Wait about three seconds, (scammer will start talking) and say hello real loud again with an inquisitive voice tone. (scammer will stutter and start talking again) Wait another three seconds and finish the recording with "well, if you don't want to talk to me, leave a message at the beep.Very true. If I’m home, I mute the TV where they can’t hear anything in the background and wait for a few seconds and see if they speak first or hang up. I think I’m going to start answering by saying “leave a message at the tone” and press a number and see what happens.
Got that call last week!!
Told me an arrest warrant was issued because of fraudulent activity on my ssn number.
I hung up.....lol
