That's true, a lot of those dead folks still vote in the elections for the Dems.

This reminds me of something that happened way back in the late eighties. I used to work for a small town PD in eastern OK County on my days off from the FD. One night, one of the officers from a neighboring city had a clash of attitudes with an OK county dispatcher. Not too uncommon, but you know what they say about payback.

For payback, this officer went to a local cemetery and started running backgrounds and NCIC checks for warrants on the names on the tombstones. Lo and behold, he got an NCIC hit on a wanted murder suspect from another state.

Our nearest back up was officers who were on duty in neighboring cities. As soon as the dispatcher advised the officer of the hit, sirens started heading his way.

I have no idea what his chief did to him when he found out what happened, but luckily for the officer, the person in the grave actually was the wanted person and that warrant was cleared.

Very true. If I’m home, I mute the TV where they can’t hear anything in the background and wait for a few seconds and see if they speak first or hang up. I think I’m going to start answering by saying “leave a message at the tone” and press a number and see what happens.
Just set your answering machine to pick up on the second ring. Leave a message that says hello in friendly terms. Wait about three seconds, (scammer will start talking) and say hello real loud again with an inquisitive voice tone. (scammer will stutter and start talking again) Wait another three seconds and finish the recording with "well, if you don't want to talk to me, leave a message at the beep.
Once the scammers realize they have been duped by the message, they will start cursing you and those dearest to you by default. Great fun back when we had a house phone.

My current scammer is supposed to be Apple. They have issues with translating into the english language. My account has been locked until I reset my personal info and reactivate/confirm my CC account #.
Tonight they gave me 24 hours to do all that before permanently locking my account. LOL.

I did too. Then I blocked the number. I don’t know if there’s a limit of calls that can be blocked on a smart phone, but I have hundreds of them.

I have a machine that is called a CPR 5000 and it has a built in library of 5000 known nuisance numbers that it blocks, plus I can add up to 1500 more numbers to that library. I get practically ZERO problem calls and when a new number that my wife or myself do not recognize we let it go to answering system then if it is one of these bozos we block it. It is probably the best $100 I ever spent for any phone related item. Want to block the call just push the big red button. Want to block it after they go to answering machine just use the call log to bring the number up in the CPR 5000 display and push the big red button. I am dead serious about this thing, it is easy to find on line and just do a search for CPR 5000, it really is a great little doodad. It plugs in between the phone wall jack and the phone base.

They don't even 'cancel' your number even when you die...……..it's sad to think that this scheme actually works enough for the crooks to make it worth their time. :rolleyes2

Just another democrat headed to the polls.

I've been getting those calls recently too. I just delete the message and go on. If I can catch one calling me I like to screw with them and give them a hard time.

I love the IRS scam calls as I have so much fun with them. If it is a woman I start into the dirty old man routine. If a guy I start yelling about how the government will never take me alive.

If the IRS ever calls me for real I am probably in trouble. :P
