There are a lot of choices to choose from as far as AIWB goes. I don't know who created the idea of the wedges, but it's gold. All my holsters that I carry AIWB have wedges. A lot of holsters are good, but so much better with the wedge. Full size guns are easy to carry and conceal now. I've never tried one of them fancy "claws", but they look decent.

@ef9turbo: This is good information. I like the claw feature in that it pushes against your belt from the inside, thus pressing the butt of the pistol in towards your body. It seems to me that the wedge would push the gun in too, but from the muzzle end. Just thinking about it, either of these two add-ons, or a combination of both, would seem to be more effective with a longer barrel/longer grip gun. I’m thinking it would be of more proportional help to conceal a full size gun like say...a Glock 17 or Sig P226; whereas you wouldn’t gain as much help with a small pistol like a Sig P365 or a Glock 43. Your thoughts? Also, do you know of anyone who sells these wedges and claws that could be attached (glued/duct taped even) to an existing AIWB or IWB? I guess a guy could make a DIY wedge with some high density foam and some glue, but I’d rather have one already made made for the purpose that’s of the right size.

I know Keepers and JMCK sell wedges. A lot of guys are making their own wedges by cutting the heal area off of a shoe insole and attaching it to a holster with velcro.

One of my holsters conceals a full size Glock easily with a wedge. I’ve only purchased wedges from Keepers and they’ve lasted me a few years. I just use heavy duty velcro.

Sounds good. Thanks. I think I’d like to give the wedge a try.

They make all the difference, especially with a shorter barreled gun that tends to flop forward from the weight being more towards the grip. I’ve carried everything from a Glock 34 to a Glock 43 comfortably.

I got a Vedder light Tuck with the claw attachment. The claw really does help, it doesn’t need a wedge, the grip of the pistol is pushed in tight, carrying appendix inside waistband as is. This will work fine until my TT Gun Leather KX lightweight inside waistband holster arrives. Even then I’ll be able to use it for quick and easy on and off.
