Could it have caused a squib? Possible. What happened there is the pressure blew backwards around the primer since there was a gap. Soooo, the weak spot when the "explosion" went off was around the primer instead of the pressure pushing the bullet.
Take it to them and get your money back.
I had a guy bring me a partial box of 9mm once said he tried them and what he tried was duds so he brought me the rest knowing i reloaded and said here you can have them for parts and when i opened the box it had powder all in it and 3/4 had NO primer in them.
Oops!
I've heard some complaints about that brand.
I do know after policing up brass after a USPSA match you find several live rounds that were ejected that had backwards or sideways primers. Don't know if it was remanufactured or reloads, but it's not an uncommon issue.
Why am I seeing a mental image of Yosemite Sam carrying a keg of gun powder and Bugs Bunny with a match?
It wasnt alot but enough to catch my attention since i knew what powder looked like and thought it odd.
