I’m fortunate enough to still have both grandpas. I hunt with one and fish with the other.
During the spring and summer we crappie fish together once every week for two. Then trout fish in the winter, just not as often.
The other deer, dove and turkey hunts. Although, when he deer hunts now he’s watching deer and waiting for coyotes.
My dad hunts and fishes with us and I have two little ones that’ll start going before too long.

My dad is next to last of 10 kids. All my grandparents were dead by the time I was 5. I hunted small game and bird some as a kid. We did lots of bass fishing and trot lining growing up. My dad did a lot of bird hunting before my birth and when I was very small but someone stole his dogs and I think that killed it for him.

I was blessed to have a dear friend that died of cancer earlier this year at 80. He was my fishing buddy for many years. He taught me to bow fish and we fished for many years at least once a week regardless of weather. Bowfished all summer and bass fished the rest of the year. He had a great private lake he spent a couple months at each year in Florida. Got some amazing stories from that place.

Taking my son this coming Saturday to get his hunter safety he is 10 now and chomping at the bit to go hunting.

My biological Dad was killed when I was 5. He had guns but didn’t hunt. My Grandfather on that side didn’t hunt but had a couple guns which I now have. My Mom’s Dad got me started hunting squirrels and doves when I was about 6, and I got privilege to “guide” him on his last deer hunt when he was 80.
My Mom married my “step” Dad when I was 7, and he had the largest influence on my hunting education. We lost him 5 years ago, and I still miss getting to hunt with him or just talk hunting with him.

My Dad started me hunting on family ground in SE Okla and on land owned out at Butler, Ok. I grew up on a quarter section in Okla county where I was allowed free rein to hunt and fish. I now inherited my family home where I still hunt and fish. I now hunt and fish with many close friends that are OSA members too.

My dad's dad didn't hunt or fish. Dad deer hunted but fished more than anything. My mom's dad and grandpa both fished, but her grandpa pretty much squirrel hunted daily. I don't remember ever fishing with more than just me and dad, or me and my grandpa or great grandpa hunting or fishing together, usually just me and one of them. My dad passed away a few months before my daughter was born so she missed out on that, as did he.

My grandpa took me deer hunting with him when I was a kid, it rained the one day we were going so we just drove down the back roads looking for deer. (Sure seemed OK at the time! haha)

The other side of my family we have dove and pheasant hunted with uncles, cousins, nephews....for years.
