Anyone kept up with what is going on in that country since Chavez took over?
I heard a lady interviewed on the KOKC talk show yesterday evening. Shes a native from there and blacklisted from that government for protesting so she had to flee with her daughter or be killed. She was telling her story of how life there had changed from the most wealthy country in south America to the poorest in the country in the blink of an eye. It was incredible hearing the conditions over there and all from Chavez and his radical Socialist ways. She mentioned the inflation rate being up some 5 million percent. Now to put that into perspective, she said to buy the need iPhone 11, one would have to work for 36 years to afford it. I cant imagine what a biscuit would cost.
And of course poverty has driven crime to an astronomical level. People are getting murdered in the street "for the goods in their bag" no matter what you were carrying...instead of snatch n grab theft, it was kill n grab.
I was unaware of the changes being so radical and horrific.
