Doc visit yesterday, took yet another chest x-ray. ( I should glow in the dark by now) I fractured yet another rib from coughing so hard and still have fluid on the lung. I have got to figure out what in this house is causing this. I know the carpet is old and stinks bad no matter how many times we shampoo it but we can not afford to replace it and I am not sure it is the problem.

Oh well, doc panicked and got me in to see a pulmonologist that we have been trying to get an appointment to for months. Life sucks, then you die.

Sorry Rick, coughing that bad has to hurt.

Trust me, it does. I separated 5 ribs from my sternum the first time and spent almost 2 months in the hospital because of it. Only saving grace is most of the intensive care nurses were cute and laughed at my bad jokes. Even when they forgot to put my call button in reach and I was tossing stuff over the curtain to get someone's attention they took it in stride.

Mold? If you suispect the carpet, rip it out and live with the slab floor a while. Beats dying over carpet. Get an air test, sounds like mold.

Wife is afraid one of us will fall and break a hip or something on a slap floor. I have leg issues and she old and decrypted. :P :P :P

I wanted to tear up the living room carpet and just paint it or put down roll vinyl that looks like wood flouring but neither went over with the wife or we could afford.

Hang in there, at least you're still handling it with a sense of humor. This stuff happens to people when they get to be your age. I'm glad I won't be your age for about another four months. Take good care, Rick. Get well.
