Many of us have raised our right hand and swore to support and defend the Constitution. That document was meant to apply to everyone, not just those I like.

This is true. And... Ellen is correct. I like a lot of what she says and does and don't like a lot also. But I'm fairly certain the framers of the Constitution wouldn't say it applied to the "America hating, America needs to be punished" crowd that we have today. There's nothing wrong with "calling it" like it is either. You don't have to go along with wrong to get along. IMO. :twocents:

This reminds me of a real world disagreement several years back.

I was working a pistol match a few years back in Arkansas. One of the employees of the governing body and I were having a "spirited" debate over a contentious rule interpretation. Unbeknownst to me, said employee's BIL was standing at the back of the shooting bay when another shooter seriously asked him "Are they going to come to blows over this argument?" His BIL replied "Hell no, they're best friends!* They're just really passionate in what they believe!"

That's how I look at OSA. It may appear to an outsider that we're at each other's throats, but I firmly believe that any of us would come to another's aide should the need arise and in spite of any personal differences we may have. I know I feel that way from my side of the "fight" anyway. :)

*Which shouldn't be construed as me not going to his office later that week and dirty dicking his computer mouse, which I totally did :D

It's like the ball busting we give other services, it's all good, and has more machismo than saying I love ya man!

I try to start any discussion in a friendly manner but if the other party wishes to get contentious, I have no problem following their lead while staying within forum rules.
People that use a pseudo name seem for the most part to be the ones that want to escalate the discussion, hiding behind the supposed anonymity that brings with it. This forum isn’t so bad but the tweeters and FB’ers seem to really rely on that to be mean and insulting.
99.9% of them wouldn’t have the balls/ovaries to say what they do face to face.
I lol at the backdoor badasses on those social media outlets that sit in mommy’s basement in their jammy’s.

If you have ever seen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, they make fun of those types throughout the whole movie and in the end take the money from their movie deal and fly around to all the anonymous people who made fun of them and kick their butts. Was pretty funny.

I have no issue being friends, either personal or on social media, with folks that disagree with me on topics the OP listed, such as medical marijuana, tattoos, etc...hell, I'm even friends with folks that shoot 6.5 Creedmoor's :rotflmao:...but its harder for me to deal with folks that support people/politicians that would undo America in an instant, be it our "current" country or our country circa 1900, just for power and greed...I feel that probably 98% of politicians, celebrities, etc, on BOTH sides of the political aisle, could give a crap less about us normal folks, but some want support on topics that I will never agree with, no matter what percentage of the citizenry claims its OK...

Exactly correct. There are two levels of citizenry in this country. The Elite in DC and Hollywood, and the rest of us deplorables. They think what they have to say is more important than us because it benefits them.
In the old days, it was called serfdom. Some folks laid around the castle while the serfs performed all the duties to bring riches to the castle owners.
We have a small niche of folks that work their way out of serfdom that is called the upper middle class but are still deplorable because they were not "gifted" with fame and fortune.
I take great pride in being just middle class, working hard for what I've earned, and giving the middle finger to those that were "gifted with fame and fortune" that didn't earn a darned thing from the sweat of their brow.
