It's not that, I'm working on 22 years with my current employer, I just want my retirement to be "one and done" at 62 when I can draw on all my incomes. :)
Ah, gotcha. I'm working to get my mutual fund in or near the 7 digit mark. Then at 12% interest I can live nice on that plus my pension. I think I'm too young to get SS at 62. I believe I'm in the 67 age range and I dont wanna work that long if I dont have too.

Eleventy One (111) days for me,,,
That's when I can retire.

I'll probably keep working until they dynamite me out of my chair though,,,
I'm loving what that monthly social security check is doing to my savings account.

Seriously though, I'll probably retire around June of 2020,,,
The University I work at just merged (read hostile take-over) my college with another one.

For 14 years I worked very independently and got great reviews and merit raises,,,
Now my new supervisor (millennial PhD with a man bun) thinks I need to be micro-managed.

What used to be a fun and satisfying job is being turned into useless drudgery,,,
When I do walk away I'll not have any reason to look back.

I think I'll apply for a part-time clerk job at my favorite liquor store.:drunk5:

That EXACTLY whats happened here. I worked independently for 20 years and the senior staff took care of me now I have a new supervisor who is a micro manager an wants me to do better? BETTER? I've always had the support of every division head because I did the best I could do always and they saw that in me and my team. So why all the sudden do I find myself in the current state? I for sure dont know but I'm gettin hen the gettins good and never look back.

And that is exactly what I did. Between the wife and me, 5 checks hit the account like clockwork. No more suits; no more ties. No more dry cleaning bills. No more bean counters. No more boss. No more watch.

Ahhhhhhh...life is good.
