So Turkey has boned us as recently as 2003, we sent Troops into the Country to facilitate the advance of US Forces into Iraq for the invasion. Turkey then decided to not allow US staging or Combat actions to occur from their country. Saw Turkish troops captured, medically examined and returned to their capture location all in a 36 hour period. Turkey is not on the short list of folks that those in uniform in the region rely on or even trust. The Kurds claim Mosul as theirs, the Turks claim Mosul as their capital and Syria is just an excuse to get into Mosul. Either way, the US Forces currently in theater with the Kurds are in a really crappy position.
I think that the abandonment of our Kurdish allies is a mistake. We abandoned them twice before and many have died and the embarrassment still reigns. This is the third time we've done this to the Kurds who have fought alongside our troops for a long time. Turkey hates the Kurds and will kill as many as they can and the Kurds are not radical as is the other side. I am of the opinion that as the Kurds are wiped out, the US will step back in the mess as will other big-time players and the overall end is worse than when Obama was in office-if that makes any sense. Trump stepped in his own mess this time in an effort to fulfill one of his campaign promises and an election is coming up. Predictably, he has dropped in the polls.
If we need to do anything, it needs to be in Venezuela. Genocide is taking place.
