Didn't take long for the ignorant "if you oppose Trump you're a lib" response LMFAO.

Dan Crenshaw, former Navy Seal turned Congressman, and darling of the Right, is against the move as well. Guess that makes him full of liberal B.S. and ignorant too.

Another huge lib, retired General, former head of CENTCOM and Special Operations Command disagrees as well.

What is funny is the number of Democrats taking the hawk position here. They've blasted U.S. involvement over the years and now all of a sudden they are all about standing by our allies....because it's convenient. It's also funny to see the numbers of Republicans and so-called conservatives who slammed Obama for pulling out of Iraq trying to defend Trump on this one.

Few have any integrity of argument...they just knee jerk in support of whichever camp they are in.

SMS, could you tell me what LMFAO means?

I will see you’d Dan Crenshaw and raise you one Lindsey Graham blasted the president over this issue as well but....then got pranked by the Russians and told a slightly different story.....

This is the only place I can find that has audio, but after listening to it is seems doctored check listen to it for yourselves.

Here, but occasionally There.
I was watching the news this evening, and it seemed that a spokesman was saying that we hadn't "abandoned" the Kurds. Apparently, the president of Turkey "thought" he had a "green light" to attack northern Syria. Also, there was talk that sanctions could be imposed against Turkey. I'll need to research that some more.

Yep, if we haven't won or at least wiped out the majority of the enemy in 17-18 years it is doubtful if we'll do either. As strong as we are and with the might of our military they can't fight to win because of the politicians and all their PC. I remember the old childhood story of Tar Baby how the rabbit stuck his foot in the tar and couldn't get it out and wended up with all four feet in the tar. Was that Tar Baby?

The facts are unclear at this point....unless someone has direct knowledge. I doubt anyone here does.

But there are alternative scenarios running contrary to the "woe is us" news coverage and knee-jerk reactions based on partial and unverified information.

Consider these possibilities:
Turkey told us they were attacking in x days, whether we were there or not....and in addition the size and strength of U.S. forces there was minor.

Not all Kurds are good guys....there are many different factions some of whom were bad actors.

The Turks may be walking into an unwinnable war.......including the real prospect of tangling with Russian forces

Getting out had to happen sometime and now is no worse than later.....what exactly are we doing there that is essential to our interests?....the most likely response is "protecting our good allies, the Kurds".......Suppose that is entirely and completely true...how long do they need protecting? when is the projected exit point?...Again: What exactly are we doing there that is essential our interests....are we to be perpetual peacekeepers everywhere?

You can throw rocks at any or all of these possibilities but don't you find it striking that the story in the media is so clear-cut ...almost as if they are simply repeating each other instead of having actual people on the ground to report on what is happening.....which is without a doubt the chaos of war rather than the simple narrative we hear being repeated over and over.

We're letting the Russians handle Venezuela these days.

China has their fingers in there as well with massive spending on infrastructure projects using loans that the country can't pay back. Of course China is maintaining a presence in all of South America.

Southern Command identifies that 17 out of 31 Latin American nations have joined China’s Belt and Road Initiative; meanwhile, 23 host Chinese infrastructure projects, including 56 ports across the region. China has provided Latin American countries more than $150 billion in loans since 2005.

If we had any loyalty or balls, we’d tell Erdogan that the Kurds are off limits. Tell Turkey that an attack on them is an attack on the United States, then build them their own nation. Lord knows they’ve earned it and we could use a more loyal partner in the region.

It’s never set well with me how quickly we tend to abandon brothers in arms, who have fought and died alongside our soldiers and marines. That sets up a discord within our own people. You don’t fight together in combat, then watch your “leaders” declare them no longer necessary without some internal conflict.

This was a BAD move by Trump. Someone gave Trump this advice and that’s someone who should be fired. Someday we’re going to go into some bad place with a desperate need for local guides and fighters, and they won’t be there for us. The’ll remember how we’ve abandoned so may before them and they’ll sit it out. That means more of our men and women die in their place. Certainly more than necessary.

You shouldn’t be OK with that.
