I haven't tried it but if I carried a Glock AIWB I would probably use it to help prevent an accident when re-holstering.

One of the guys on Pistol Forum invented this "gadget" and I have read many positive reviews of it there and elsewhere.

Nope. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you won't shoot your junk off.
It's not about that.

The main reason this gadget is a good idea is for re-holstering your weapon. If you apply pressure to the backplate when re-holstering like you would thumb the hammer on a SA/DA the trigger cannot be pulled by something inadvertently getting in the trigger guard like your shirt tail or jacket.

Like Joel says, keep your finger off'n the trigger till you're on target and you're good to go. I'm thinking about insurance against something like a shirt tail or other inanimate object finding its way inside the trigger guard at an inopportune moment.

I have handled a Glock with one of these gadgets installed and I could not pull the trigger while I was applying pressure to the backplate.

I reckon I better take another look then. Thanks
