I have eaten it raw many times.. But I was a kid and it was what was left after fishing for crawdads in the creek.
I found if you cook some bacon too hot too fast you cook the smoked flavor out of it.
So i cook mine slow on medium heat or less and this does not burn the grease and the grease keeps longer and is not off flavored.

In my travels, I've realized that people all cook their bacon differently. My aunt and uncle prefer theirs underdone, cajun friends like theirs burned black. I like mine crisp on the edges, chewy in the middle. What say you?

Wrapped around peppers stuffed with cheese, since we grow an over abundance of peppers its a good thing bacon exists.

This is pretty much the only way I like bacon. I love the flavor of bacon. I DESPISE the amount of fat that comes with the paltry amount of meat. Just thinking about eating a strip of bacon without stripping it of all of it's fat first makes me puke a little.

Don't eat bacon all that often but I like mine fried crispy and preferably laying next to a couple of over easy eggs.

This thread did get me to thinking though, I remember when I was a pup my mom would wrap hot dogs with bacon and put them in the oven for 'X' period. I remember them as being really good and I don't know why I haven't fixed them in all these years but I haven't.....maybe it's time I did.
