So the trend the last few years is to advertise every hotel room as a 'suite', when at MOST all they have is 1/3 of a wall between a living and sleeping area, and most don't even have that. I've seen plenty of simple hotel rooms with a bed and a bathroom advertised as a 'suite'.
The Wife is flying back in to the country on Friday morning and I am taking The Boy down and we are going to have a semi-staycation in Tulsa instead of driving somewhere. But I'd like to get us a hotel with an actual separated sleeping area - he is 14, so we'd like to have a little bit of a private sleeping area.
There is at least one room in OKC at the Doubletree, I think... they have a nice room up on the 4th floor we've stayed in a couple of times with a business area with a desk, a living room with a king bed and TV, and a separate bedroom with closing door, king bed and its own TV and such. This is the ideal kind of room. We can all stretch out, have our own separate TV shows if we want, etc. The Boy likes staying in hotels, it feels luxurious to him, even if it's just 'nice' and not a fancy place. Embassy and Doubletree are about as fancy as we ever get.
So, I looked on AirBnB and VRBO, and there really isn't much of anything in Tulsa.
The websites don't allow you to search for a separate bedroom (none that I can find, anyways), and even using their 'live chat' option, they don't seem to be able to find these types of 'specialty' rooms. They focus on booking the most people into the most basic rooms, cookie-cutter one-fits-all type stuff.
So, any suggestions? Looking for 2 nights, Fri and Sat.
