Here are a couple of my former pets. I kill a few each year, just NW of Tulsa. I leave all of the non-venomous snakes alone.

I was cooking a cotton mouth when I was left at a pond in Cushing all night and part of the morning..I was hungry and about 12 years old.
Dad tossed it into the pond when he got back and I almost had it finished cooking.
He said you do not eat those..I asked why?? he just said because you just don't.

Can you eat copperhead snakes?? What about a cotton mouth? I think yes and I would sure enough try it out..People eat rattlers so why not.

I made Canis latrans summer sausage yesterday.. and it is just fine.
