Post of the week!
I always think of that river crossing scene in Lonesome Dove when folks bring up water moccasins . . . and after my MIL was bitten by a copperhead a few years back it if looks like a copperheard it must die . . .
I rescued a small snake (a little black snake about 1' long) from the momma cat.
I have seen several dead small snakes with what looks like puncture wounds & broken spine (or broken necks) left behind by the cat.
If it was a venomous snake, I would have killed it myself, but these get a pass & I take them across the road & release them into the farmers field.

Well there ya have it, the reason us 'ol farmers have so many rat snakes in the pastures and no rats... Now the barn, that's another story entirely.. Keep 'em coming @MR.T. !!
