Simpson only got to drive the Tahoe a few weeks. She was fired on Labor Day in a shake-up at the agency that also saw the departure of Rhoades and Michael Harrell, the chief of the Highway Patrol. Both she and Rhoades told The Oklahoman they don't understand what all the fuss over the Tahoe was about.

Dang they state is getting killer deals on Tahoes. 36K for a 4x4 Tahoe. I would take that all day long even in that ugly fire truck red.

The state paid $35,904 to the dealer for the four-wheel-drive Victory Red Tahoe and spent almost $10,000 more to equip it with a siren, a side "ghost" light, a police radio, a gun vault and other accessories, records show. The state paid $999 more to put in leather seats, the records show.

Actually, I've never looked at their website. The local Ponca City news that recently changed hands from a liberal owned rag into a conservative leaning news paper that I can enjoy on the porcelain throne and use actual toilet paper now vs the dual usage from the past. My septic tank will probably do better without the newspaper being flushed into it now.
Edit: maybe I got banned for writing nasty letters to them supporting Hillary?

Well, I read it. Article stated that the cost for the Tahoe was the same as all the previous vehicles but that the color red was what was different. Said that they usually go with silver or white and keep away from dark colors due to them showing more dirt. If this is all true then I don't see the problem here. People get fired for asking for and getting a red SUV over the standard issue white or silver?

The take I got was that the Troopers out doing work were driving high mileage cruisers while a "higher echelon" attorney who wasn't even an officer got a shiny new ride all set up for a LEO, which she wasn't.
