Nice. Where do you shoot?

I sure miss Thunderbird Range. I could stretch my AR out to 400 yards there which is plenty for me with a 1x red dot.
I've got a buddy that I go with just south of you (Shawnee). On 80 acres Might be able to get him to let you run out there with us. Meant to tell you the wolf I run is in my Colt LE6920 .

That Norma has intrigued me. Their brass is pricey but supposed to be good stuff. If they are using the same brass on their bulk ammo. Which the stock photos show a norma head stamp. You can get loaded bullets from them cheaper than buying a box of their .223 brass

I have a couple of ARs I need to run some ammo through. One has a 1:7 twist and is midlength. The other is 1:9 and is a carbine.

I have not fired either of them yet. The carbine is supposedly a better quality barrel so it would be interesting to see how they compare to each other.

It's getting increasingly hard to justify reloading 9mm and .223/5.56 with the bulk ammo pricing going on right now, and it's just getting better.
I can still reload the premium ammo cheaper, but if looking for shorter range competition or plinking ammo, the bulk is right at break even almost. If one factors in their time to process the .223/5.56, you can buy it cheaper now.
Lord knows, I've got thousands of rounds of components in the cabinet, bought before reloading components were unheard of and ammo was at insane prices, but might have to keep that in the stash. You never know how the political winds may change and that situation may return.

In my short time reloading I have determined the following. You are correct it is hard to beat bulk prices especially in .223 and 9mm. I have found I can make a much higher quality round than I can buy at bulk prices if I am concerned about accuracy. If it comes to building target ammo there is no comparison building them is much cheaper. This of course is not putting any financial amount towards my time. For me a big part of reloading is its therapeutic in a sense. I enjoy the detail that goes into it and the satisfaction of seeing a great group that not only did I shoot but I built. Also there is a steep learning curve and the initial costs can be expensive. I choose to say my first round cost about 1k that way I don't have to try and figure costs of equipment into the cost of rounds over time.

Oh absolutely. It’s hard to fork over almost $300 when I can spend a few hours pulling a handle on a load that was developed for my rifle or pistol.
I killed my first deer with my reloaded round, and every one since plus 8 or so elk so I understand the satisfaction of reloading completely.

Ammo cheap now. Hell of a good time to stack it deep. Wolf gold, and Fiocchi from the posts above all shoot good, for the naysayers my piston lwrc gun will tear up some steel case too. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.
