I'd say it's more like OU out-lucked them in the first half--Hurts threw some very ill-advised passes yesterday, and it was only a combination of luck and CeeDee Lamb being an exceptional receiver (who's apparently really good at the tip drill) that turned them into big plays for us. If the Cyclone D converts one or two of those tips into picks, that game has a very different ending.
But they didn't, so it didn't, which is the bottom line.
It is Joe Burrow's Heisman Trophy to lose. A huge win over Alabama and a road win at Texas, wins over Florida and Auburn (all four opponents ranked in the Top Ten at the time of the games), and Burrow has come up big in all of them. He is the star quarterback on the No. 1 team in the country and is the man to beat for the Heisman.
Considering that the game doesn't end in the first half.... Whoever is ahead at the end of the second half generally wins.
A huge win over Alabama with an injured QB. Tua's mobility was about 50-60 % of normal. I wonder if the outcome would have been different if the tables were turned and Joe Burrow was playing at about 50-60% mobility.
LSU won and now at some point they must face a team playing better than anyone they have yet faced or will face in Ohio State.
Injuries are a part of the game...... coulda, shoulda, woulda doesn't count. LSU steamrolled their defense.
