Tell him you'll meet him in the police station parking lot. If he's legitimate, I'd say he would be willing. If he's not legit, I'd bet he loses interest real fast.
No, you are not paranoid. I would second the police station idea. If he has a problem with that, he probably has a reason to want to hide. I would not meet anyone I did not know really well after dark, in a 'remote' location. There would have to be lots of light and I would have company. (and, not just Mr's Smith & Wesson)
Bail Tim Harper out and take him with you. Just don't go to a place that serves alcohol.

Yep. I think he lost interest. He hasn’t IM’d me after I told him I didn’t feel right meeting after dark.
Well, if the deal has not entirely fallen through, I'm with @Oklahomabassin . There are OSA members in your neighborhood and I bet at least one of them would be happy to accompany you!
Biggest issue with meeting after dark for me is not being able to inspect the wares as good as durring the day.
Just got an IM from him. Guess he’s not willing to do the deal during the day, so that’s the end of that. This guy was acting way too shady.

Just remember this, no sale is worth your safety.... therefore being overcautious will never cost you anything. Guns will eventually sell...... (with the exception of a few in our classifieds)
