Man, they got lucky on a few of those plays where the Baylor receivers dropped the ball in the second half, but I think their overall play in the half contributed a lot to that luck--they did a really good job of keeping Baylor's QB and receivers from getting into any kind of a rhythm after the break.

My brother relayed a joke after the game:

Alex Grinch: I want more turn-overs.
Hurts: I got you, man.

Santa Clause would need to walk into my house right now to surprise me more than the fact our Defense just won the game.

Right? After the last 2 games where the defense never woke up its like someone finally ***** slapped them at half-time. Only one drive in the 2nd half lasted more than 3 snaps before a punt and that lone drive ended up with an interception. OU went 5 games without a take away and they got two in the 2nd half alone. I don't know what was said, what was done, but Grinch needs to do that for every quarter from now on.

Here's a great stat: time of possession in the 3rd quarter, OU 13:42, Baylor 1:18. For the entire second half, OU 24:20, Baylor 5:40. Instead of scoring in two minutes or less (as OU has done so many times this season), the offense ground out some clock devouring drives, keeping the OU defense off the field for long stretches, leaving them fresher and more energetic. Offense and defense really complimented each other in the second half.

Yes. And number of plays for the entire game favored OU by 95 to 52, I couldn't find a break down of the 2nd half specifically, but it was much more lopsided... like 59 to 16 or some such.
