Thought this was amusing.

I'm not a Glock owner or hater but I do like 1911's.

I don't have a Glock, never owned a Glock, don't want a GLock. That being said I remember finishing up at a gunrange when this fellow arrives and we are all standing around him for some reason. He pulls out this black gun that looks plastic and beat all to hell. He removes the magazine, locks back the slide and chunks that thing into the gravel and mud.

He walks over and picks it up, slaps the loaded magazine in and commences to tear up the target he's shooting. He fired 7 rounds and paused looking at us, then 7 more rounds and paused then some more.

Of course we with our Colt 1911's and S&W wheelguns were flabbergasted. This was my first taste of a plastic gun. It was everything a gun should be but it was ugly as sin.

The next time I even heard of one was a neighboring community's chief of police had shot himself in the butt with one by forgetting rule 3 while holstering his Glock.

I dislike Glocks. They are ugly as all get out, the trigger is annoying and I hate the grip angle. That being said, I'm seriously considering getting a Polymer 80 Glock frame and building one. I want to do that for a couple reasons. First, the Polymer 80 frame has a standard 1911 grip angle. Second, I now have a gun that takes Glock magazines and while I'm not a tinfoil-hatter or anything, I kinda like the idea of a rifle/pistol combo using the same ammo and magazines. What's keeping me from doing it is knowing that I'll have a LOT more into my pseudo-Glock than I would if I just bought a freaking ugly a88 Glock. :-)

This wasn't meant to be a "Glock Haters" thread, just judging by the many thousands of LEO's, both here and overseas, that carry and trust their lives to them there is no denying that they are a very dependable firearm......maybe a little un-eye appealing to some but dependable none the less.

I had a 45 ACP Glock 21-4 for a brief period and I just never could get used to the trigger, it's possible that I could have grown more used to the trigger if I'd have given it more range time but I'm not known for having an overabundance of patience so I sold it to a LEO here on OSA.........what I did like about the Glock is the 13+1 round magazine capacity vs 7+1 for the 1911 and even with me not liking the trigger my 21-4 did seem to be accurate.

When these hit the stores I'm going to be first in line to get one :).........
