I would rather some OK legislature member propose a law that nullifies all federal gun control laws, including the NFA. We already violate federal law with our MM, lets thumb the nose at 2a infringement laws as well as any future 2a infringement laws.

These are Very dangerous laws.....hope everyone becomes aware and demand that they vote No on this bill.
Why vote No, @Judi? As I understand the video, this bill, if passed, would prevent the state of Oklahoma from enforcing any Federal Red Flag laws that might be passed. I believe Red Flag laws, as most are written, are dangerous. Refusing to enforce them would be a bad thing?

I assume it would also make passing any Red Flag laws in the state more difficult, as this one would have to be repealed first. Maybe...

Indeed...I was meaning that those red flag laws,..are the problem. I agree a state law to give nonenforcement of any fed law passed. Sad the way states and fed are going off the deep end

Ah, I agree then. Red Flag laws SOUND like a good idea in intent, unfortunately they are ripe with opportunity for abuse. Unfortunately, most people hear and agree with an idea without thinking about what the unintended consequences COULD be.

All I know about this SB1081 is what's in the video, but it sounds like something I could support. I was hoping someone knew more about it, as I just stumbled across the video on youtube this morning, and have not otherwise heard anything.

Um, do you possibly mean the NFA?

Red flag laws present due process issues. Take weapons first then provide for a hearing. The gun owner must prove he/she is entitled to their property by showing they do not come within the stautory scheme for seizure. Those statutory schemes will vary by state. The burden of proof may well vary.
Allegations by people who don't like you can result in weapons seized. Such laws might keep weapons out of the hands of persons who are dangerous but will no doubt harm a large number of innocent individuals.
