I use a quart cup of sal soda per gallon of water, and yes, I apply peroxide to further/finish off the whitening process.

First off, I recommend a stainless pot, and mine is a 20 or 25 quart (4 gallons of water with the skull in it leaves room so it won’t boil over). As you can see from the picture, I put a stick under the rack to keep as much of the bases out of the water.
Thanks for the reply!!

Had a young 8 point cruise by at 60 yards around 730 this morning. I text my buddy and told him "a buck is headed your way" followed by "never mind, i forgot you're at work." After I got down to head to a midday stand, I checked the camera and sent him a pic of buck and a new rub behind the stand.

Tonight things were slow until 5 minutes prior to end of light. A huge bodied deer came stomping in like he owned the place but he hung up at 40 yards for 3 minutes. 2 minutes before end of light, he comes in to 18 yards and try as I might, I couldn't identify him or feel like an ethical shot could be made as he was basically a shadow. He was right in front of my camera for a few minutes so once the other deer vacated, I got down and grabbed the card. Once at the truck, I checked the card. BLANK! I guess i forgot to turn the camera on this morning... mother of God. So now I don't know who I almost had a shot on, either. Taking tomorrow off from hunting. Let's see how moist Thursday and Friday is.

All right now Bassin and Meatgrinder......you all are gettin a weeee bit too personal or you been spying on me. You been learning my tricks. This morning a 5 X 3 toad came into the feeder, ate a little, had a drink of water and went after one of my girls that has had her tail straight out for several days. She is just about ready. He is on my hit list. I'm hoping Huckleberry will nuke his *%#soon.

Well, I know some of you will be happy but we will not be making it to Oklahoma this year for the rifle opener. First season since my son was born 16 years ago that I'm missing rifle season hunting with my Father in Law. It really sucks and he has put in so much work on the property but the bright side is that my Son's high school football team is still playing in late November. They are in the semifinals game on Friday out here in Socal for Division 9. It has been a great season and the boys are playing tough but they have a challenge this Friday. So, there are two more deer for you Okies to shoot this year. Hope you all have a great season and "catch a deer". We'll be driving out for the Christmas holidays so if there is some sort of gathering at that time maybe I can get an invite and meet some.

My kid is #50. Starting Center.

Sorry your going to miss the gun season opener, but that is a great reason to do so. You only get that one time. Deer season goes on year after year.
Looking forward to you getting out here permanently. I don't live far from your hunting ground and retired so time is on my side for a meet up. Several of us in the near area.
