I am thinking that the guards may have actually been the hitmen helping Ep suicide himself. Why else would the cameras not work and neither of them see anything or supposedly be sleeping. Bet it’s something along the lines of you guys are going to help out or your entire family’s going to get whacked and if you say anything, same outcome. The price of compliance and cooperation is you get to live.
