I feed my dogs twice a day. Little dry food, little wet food, and they expect a few green beans. They put their nose in their bowl, and look at me funny if I run out of green beans. Ha They are so good letting me sleep late if I want, 8:30 9 area, but after I get my first cup of coffee, they expect to eat right then. In the summer, they are OK with usually getting fed about dark when my day starts winding down. With the time change, they do not like me holding them off till 7 or so. I tried feeding them earlier a couple times, but then they "forget" and think they need to eat again about 11 or 12 before going to bed. Ha

So we have 3 dogs.... of which one is a murderdeathkill dog mix...... if you fill his water bowl.....he drinks it completely after he eats. No other time unless he's been on a W. A. L. K. So..... I have a large plastic pitcher that I fill up to fill up all the water bowls. I do this before their feedings in the morning and at night. He can tell when I'm filling up this pitcher and comes running into the kitchen which signals the others. If I fill his bowl instead, no reaction. Which was interesting for quite some time because my wife couldn't figure out it was Thunderdome time every time she filled up that pitcher to water her 823,1024 indoor plants.

My dog suffers from some bone infecting disease she caught from the ground in Arizona. I give her a pill every other day in a piece of cheese. She is so smart she can be asleep in the bedroom and hear the cabinet door to the pill jar close and be sitting right next to me in 10 seconds wagging her tail. She has never had an accident in the house. She has always awakened me to go outside. She even has an inside voice, really soft and muffled unlike her bark at squirrels outside. She won't carry on with her barking either. She will bark a few times and that's it. No more. Really a good natured dog that only wants to be pet a bit then lays down.
Of course she does have a lab's tail that will destroy anything in it's wake.
