If you have a lifetime you'll still need a Federal Duck Stamp, HIP and Crane permits, and a bear tag. Tags for elk, deer, antelope, turkey, trapping, raccoon/fox/bobcat, Oklahoma Duck Stamp will be included in the LTHL. Can't remember about the $5 rattlesnake permit lol.

Guy on here poached a rattlesnake just the other day. Don't tell anybody.

Seriously, I guess the guys who catch snakes for the big snake shows need a permit.
I didn't know that.

Resident landowners are exempt from a hunting/fishing license when doing so on their own property. There are a few other exemptions as well for landowners and tenants found on pg 9 of the regs. However, “tags” such as licenses for deer, turkey, elk, etc. are still required.

I confess I am not a hunter, had a life time fishing license for 30 years, but when I turned 62 (that was the age back then) I purchased the combination hunting and fishing license for old folks for $25 just as a backup in case I started back bird hunting some day. OK, give me definition of a "deer tag" on my own property and also if I am on the Corps land near my house during appropriate hunting season. Seems like after now 65 a "deer tag: is a piece of paper with your name address, etc attached by what I have seen. Someone is printing them up with your info selling them online.

Am I correct on this?

If you have the senior citizen lifetime license it covers your deer licenses as well.

The term “tag” is used loosely for what is actually a deer license. A person needs a deer license for each deer they plan to harvest. However, traditionally as hunters we’ve referred to them as tags. I don’t know if the agency ever called them tags or not.

It is also required that a person affixes their name, license #, date, and time on the carcass before it is transported. This can be any object (paper, tape, etc) this is also often referred to as a field tag or transportation tag.

So yes, it can be confusing to distinguish what someone is referring to when talking about a deer “tag”.

Hope that helps.

You have to purchase a deer/turkey tag from the ODW be it on your land or on other lands private or public. You do not need a hunting license on land owned or leased by you for agricultural purposes. If you lease land for hunting purposes you must buy a tag and have a license.
What your seeing is harvest tags that must be attached to the animal before it is removed from the field or location it was killed in which is an additional requirement to the purchased tag. You have to write your name, license number, date and time of kill, and I include my address although I'm not sure the address is required but want all bases covered.
Edit: Opps! I see this has already been answered.
