I am all for letting young bucks walk, but that buck was a prime candidate for back straps on the grill. If the buck does this when he is mature and 225# he will really whoop up on some people.

And if he did break it's neck, throw it down, shoot it, or any of the other suggestions, he would be receiving even more criticism.
From some people, yeah. We call those people "wussies." :wink2:

It's like the discussions on ESPN several years ago about some particularly hard hit in the NFL. I saw one show that featured sports journalists, and they were all decrying it for being vicious and having no place in the game. The very next show featured retired NFL players, and they were all going on about what a perfect hit it was, just like you're supposed to do it.

They were building a bonfire. There were people standing around with tree branches in their hands and no one thought to whack the **** outta that buck

That is just like church people. The pastor is being attacked and the people just watch and not come to his aide. :) If he carried he had a few chances to draw and fire.

I thought I heard one of them say "I don't have my gun or I'd take him out" or something along those lines.

Looks like a local deer that has been fed by people and when the rut came around tried to be dominant. I had a pair (buck and doe) years ago in a pen. They came from a pen-raised buck and doe from a golf course down in the Moore area. The owner gave them to me which only required a Non-Commercial breeders license (I think it was 10 bucks then) and a pen inspected by a game warden. They are pretty predictable except for about 45 days a year. We are in that window.
