He said he was finishing his coffee when his wife told him a big buck was standing outside across on my place. He picked up his rifle, stepped out and shot him. Used a Henry Long Ranger in .243 if anyone was wondering. I counted 21 points.

Happy for him, disappointed for me, just glad it wasn't some yahoo roadhunter or a car on the turnpike.

Lots of great pics on here. I looked at all of them but didnt have time to read all the stories since there were 69 pages when I started. Congrats to all you guys and pass on the congrats to the kiddos. Thats my favorite part. I started a kids thread so post up over there. I havent shot anything in years since I spend most of my time getting my girl on hers but I shot this one opening day. Just picked a spot and sat down and he showed up. His head was up and skylined so he looked a lot bigger at 200 yards than he was. I might have passed on him if I would have known he wasnt really big. But maybe not.

What an awesome buck! She probably doesn’t realize how envious grown men are of her buck. Congrats!

Awesome buck! She did well and yes many a grown man/women will be envious of that caliber of deer. I was worried about ruining my 14 year old on deer hunting as he has begun thinking of it ain’t bigger then last years, I don’t want to shoot it. He will kill plenty of does without worrying if it’s better than his last one. I have been trying to stress to him it’s more about the hunt then the kill, but bragging to your friends is a lot easier with pictures. Your daughter has a lot to brag about with that one. Nice work dad and tell her congrats on a great deer!
