I don't get the hate for Gundy from within the OSU fan base. He has the best winning percentage of any OSU coach in the modern area, and he's second overall among Pokes coaches--and he's 28th among active coaches. Yeah, this year and last weren't awesome, but the year before was a ten-win season, as was the year before that. Percentage-wise, Miles and Simmons had better records against OU, but Simmons was going against OU during a bad slump, and it's likely that Miles would've had a worse record if he hadn't bailed for LSU after four seasons.
So here's the $64 question: if you get rid of Gundy, who are you going to get who is better and won't bail when one of the big programs offers him a job?
Not so much hate, just stating the facts that OSU will be mired in mediocrity with Mike Gundy as the head coach. Yeah, its nice to say he's only had one losing season and they have at least gone to a bowl game every year since 2006, but that is it. Only one conference championship, only two wins against OU and has only sniffed a title game once. As an OU fan I want OSU to be in the spotlight, it makes the bedlam game that much more important (would rather have OSU as the decider than that team from Austin). If OSU wants to be a contender, they need a better coach who can recruit and develop along with good coordinators who can produce a winning game plan.
