I don't get the hate for Gundy from within the OSU fan base. He has the best winning percentage of any OSU coach in the modern area, and he's second overall among Pokes coaches--and he's 28th among active coaches. Yeah, this year and last weren't awesome, but the year before was a ten-win season, as was the year before that. Percentage-wise, Miles and Simmons had better records against OU, but Simmons was going against OU during a bad slump, and it's likely that Miles would've had a worse record if he hadn't bailed for LSU after four seasons.

So here's the $64 question: if you get rid of Gundy, who are you going to get who is better and won't bail when one of the big programs offers him a job?

Not so much hate, just stating the facts that OSU will be mired in mediocrity with Mike Gundy as the head coach. Yeah, its nice to say he's only had one losing season and they have at least gone to a bowl game every year since 2006, but that is it. Only one conference championship, only two wins against OU and has only sniffed a title game once. As an OU fan I want OSU to be in the spotlight, it makes the bedlam game that much more important (would rather have OSU as the decider than that team from Austin). If OSU wants to be a contender, they need a better coach who can recruit and develop along with good coordinators who can produce a winning game plan.

Recruiting is their only issue and Gundy cant do squat about it.
Location Location Location. Stillwater is kinda out there with nothing around. Norman, not so much. That plays a roll on who wants to attend let alone play ball. And pay,
If OSU paid its players as well as OU then they'd get better players.
I kid

Ding ding ding.... OSU will go back to being a stepping stone.

Y'all also need to think about the number of players that play in the NFL BECAUSE of Gundy. How many were there before him?

I would love to have a degree from O.S.U. Great ag school. Lots of nice people in Stillwater too. They'll never get passed the problem with recruiting. I root for the Cowboys most of the time, but, let's face it, Stillwater is no South Bend, Indiana.

I got my degree from there. Majored in Construction management with a minor in beer drinking...or vise versa

I got mine from OSU Institute of Technology in Okmulgee. The president is a friend of mine, and I asked him once what the relationship was between OSU and OSUIT, because they kind of make a big deal in Okmulgee that it is NOT OSU, but my diploma has an OSU seal and Burns Hargis' signature on it.

He him-hawed around for about five minutes about having its own president, and his relationship with Hargis, and a couple of other things and finally said.... "Ummmm.... it's complicated."

I wasn't sure if he didn't know how to explain it, or finally decided this fool is never going to get it anyways. :pms2:

I could rant about Gundy for days. 13-2 vs OU is pathetic. Les Miles was 2-2 and Bob Simmons was 2-3 and I remember sitting in the stands as Simmons was booed and his kid was booed each time he sent him on the field. I can't believe those that worship at the alter of Gundy aren't in here bashing @Tanis143 yet. I have followed Ok State football for a long time. I quit following it and watching every game a few years ago. Gundy's ego is out of control and he hasn't lived up to what he is being paid. Last year was almost a 5-7 season with no bowl game. This year wasn't much better. I said at the beginning of this season I thought they were in a down turn. I still believe it. This was another season that could have ended up even worse. Instead he plays 3 crap teams and gets 3 wins in conference from the bottom dwellers. Then off to the who cares bowl. To play a 6-6 team. Gundy is on the fast track to turning into Pat Jones. Just win enough to get a crap bowl and people will be happy.

I also think its an insult to OU to say that the rivalry game is a great game. That's like saying Amelia Molitor vs Joe Mixon was a great fight. OU is a power house with history. They have 89-18 win record vs Ok State. OK state had a couple good seasons as the Big 12 was in decline and the Power house schools in the big 12 were having some down years. It drives me nuts each time OU smashes Ok State in a game then OK state fans go strait to to OU fans are the worst fans and so rude. Followed by OSU has more golf national championships. NO one gives a sh#t about golf championships or wrestling especially when talking about football. The same old tired arguments as far back as I can remember. The OSU sports forums are so full of guys drinking spiked coolaid. Its just really sad that people are okay with what they are being fed. The cash cow has died and the train has left the station but they will continue to let the mulleted moron be the mayor in mediocre town.

Feel better now? I think it’s time for Gundy to go. OSU will never draw the recruits to Stillwater like OU does to Norman no matter who is coach and as fans we don’t expect to be #1 every year like OU fans do. OU lost early again and trying to make it back in. I hope they do. This is the first year I’ve ever said that due to the discipline that I think Riley has brought to the team. Gundy has done a lot of good but it’s time to move on. He’s not a mullet moron and to call him that is a good example of acting like an OU ahole. Cheer your team on and best of luck in post season.

Its actually the 5 million dollar question. You should be able to find multiple qualified candidates for 5 million. That is tied for 9th place overall.
