I'm guessing the cars in the drawers are all loose like those that are pictured.

Wouldn't they be worth much more if they were in the original packaging?

Yes, like...each.

You're talking to a guy who may or may not have one in the $20k range....

Nice. I remember back in 1987 or so I bought an entire box of Fleer basketball cards at the old TG&Y in Shawnee. The box cost like $15.

I got home and ended up with like 8 Jordan rookies . . . plus had almost 2 completes sets of that year's cards. There were tons of other rookies in there worth way more than the box.

I sold many of them when in college that helped put food on our table. :)

I think my SIL still has one of the Jordan rookies that I gave her back then.

Most collectors of vintage Hot Wheels prefer them loose. Sure, they're worth more in the package (for ones that were available in the package...a great deal of that collectors cars were never available in a package)...but they're also more likely to incur more damage in the package as they rattle around in the blisterpack. Its easier to maintain condition when its out of the package. You can also the whole car out of the pack...and being in the pack is far from a guarantee of the car being in mint condition.
