Interesting, my dad build dozens and dozens of those, I don't remember any of them having leftovers and trash for a surprise in the center lol.

Many brick mailboxes have starling or European house sparrow (both invasive species) nests in them. The birds enter the gap underneath the mailbox itself. Keep an eye out in the spring and you'll see lots of them entering and leaving. In my neighborhood (Moore), the number of bird inhabited mailboxes numbers as high as 1 in 5 on some streets. Those with birds' nests under their mailbox tend to have mites crawling over their letters once they've sat in the mailbox a while. If you have a gap under your mailbox, spray some bug killer in there and fill it with that expanding foam stuff.

I caught the builders hiding trash, piss bombs and a bucket of turds in my front porch when I lived back in Andover Kansas. They hadn't closed up one side of the porch by end of day. I lost my sh** over than one.

That’s justification for homicide

I can't explain how mad I was. Borderline crazy to the point that my LEO career was flashing before my eyes. It did make everyone in the development start checking their homes more often during the build. I won't be using Don Klausmeyer Construction ever again.
