What is that we always say around here...

Concealed is concealed!

I have seen a "No loaded guns until on the firing line" type rule at other ranges. I have asked if that includes my carry weapon and was told no. Just keep it holstered until on the firing line.

I would ask about it and if they really mean that rule to include your carry weapon then IMO they need to be told that you will not visit their range until the rule is changed to exclude carry guns.

Quoted from the other thread..

"Another point is the “no loaded firearms” in the building rule. This rule has been in place for over 20 years...if you are concealed carrying, please feel free to do so. We do have a “no holster draw” rule on our general firing line though. Because of this rule, we cannot accommodate open-carry configurations."

I don't see what having a "no holster draw" rule has to do with open carrying. I wonder if they will reconsider open carry under the new permit-less carry law? I can understand a "no holster draw" rule.

I'd have no problem with leaving brass you found there. I'd have a BIG problem if I could not keep my own brass, but his response in the other thread says that's not the case.

I wouldn't object to anything in his response, except I just don't understand no open carry rule, it seems hypocritical to me for a range or gun store to have policies against legal carry.

It's most likely a case of being difficult to enforce "No holster draw" as one could quickly draw, shoot, and holster while the RO is looking elsewhere and without seeing you do it they can't say much. On the other hand, if the rule is no open carry, and they see your sidearm, they can say something before the previous issue ever arises.

Not saying it's the necessarily right way to handle it, but I can see the logic. And I also know there are to many bad apples that would do exactly what I described.
