In puberty.
10 yrs old, riding bikes, go carts, doing what slightly screwed up 10 yr olds do.
Year I joined the Navy, quit school, at that time you could sign up at 17 with parents OK. Single Mom working as a waitress trying to get me and my 1 year older sister through the expensive years of high school. Wasn't too hard to talk her into signing on the dotted line to let me join and become 1 less mouth to feed.
I was struggling to get my driver's license. Back then it was harder to get a Massachusetts driver's license than it is to get a gun there today.
