You can all laugh and think it's not going to happen, but just look at what these kids believe in and what they want to accomplish.

"These kids". Yeah, there are the David Hoggs. But then there are also those like the several that like to go shooting with me, the ones who don't get excited over the single shot shotgun, the 10/22, or the bolt action rifle. It's the "modern sporting arms" that seem to get them all excited, and there are many, many like these. As was said - it will be boogaloo time before they take them. The generation behind the Millennials is much more Conservative, cynical, and aware. The battle royale between that group and the millennials once they start achieving positions of power should be epic. And there will still be a good portion of us old farts to contend with, too.

I agree with the subject in a debate class, but Junkyard dogs example is a philosophy class. Our kids are being indoctrinated in junk climate science and taught to hate guns in their formative years that will carry on with them throughout their lives.
We have more than one family friends that are 2A and gun friendly. Their kids in middle and high school love Bernie and pocahontas becaise that is what they are taught in school.
If it's ok to require students to take the opposite side in a debate class against the 2A, then shouldn't the student body be required to take a pro 2A class so they can form an honest debate?

I'm sure they will carry those beliefs on into adulthood, but it won't be long before they see the light and rue the day they find themselves struggling to find viable energy sources, freedom from servitude, and disarmed of any means to regain what they naively let slip through their fingers.

Some within the protected/isolated shelter of public education and academia are emboldened to be overtly against the right to keep and bear arms. They, along with their allies in government and mass media, are getting more vociferous.
Reality is a bucket of cold water ready to quench their self-encouraged fervor. I'm not losing any sleep over this issue. The citizenry living in the real world are not coming on board with their schemes.

I’d have to be the rebel of the class and probably get kicked out with a failing grade. I’d write my whole paper just the opposite.

Also, a question for the teachers. Who decides what is taught in our schools? Is the subject matter and opinions up to the teachers or a higher authority. Are they taught both sides to be able to form their own opinion or is it like the media that puts their own spin on everything just to get people in front of the TV?

I believe the state determines the curriculum mostly? Our teachers onboard should know.

My first thought was to approach this as an academic exercise. Write the paper on why guns are bad and why the 2A should be abolished and then write another on why guns by and of themselves are not bad and why the 2A is vital to us as a country and as individuals. Use it as an opportunity to put forth your views in a measured, succinct way rather than in an adversarial contest.

My 10 year granddaughter wants to wear her MAGA hat to school. She would write a paper on why we have the 2nd Amendment and if her teacher didn’t like it my daughter would be up to the principals office in a flash. She already did once on some climate change BS.
