Yeppers...

...congratulations on retiring. We retired in 2014, me at 68 and the wife at 62. Hooked onto the RV and started traveling to the west. Back in Oklahoma now and still trying to do some stuff. We worked for about 3 months this last Summer and paid off a couple of debts in short order. Plan on working again next year at the same job since it lets us go see other states.

After that, we'll probably hook up the RV again and go do some more traveling.

Congratulations!

I started seriously considering retirement when I asked the financial advisor if he thought I'd be able to retire at 59 1/2. He said, "You could go to lunch today, don't come back, and you'd be fine." It's funny, someone told me yesterday they were considering retiring, and asked if I had any regrets? Nope. There are a few people I worked with that I miss seeing, but the people I was closest to still have lunch with me occasionally.

We started remodeling our house a few months later, so that kept me busy for a while.

I could have retired a few years back due to my wife's exceptional financial planning, but I'm having too much fun. My plan is to keep working even after I go completely batshit crazy as pay back to all the turds I work with. It'll take them 2 or 3 threes to flush me out.

Congratulations. I retired at 63. My only suggestion is to insure that you have plans on how to stay somewhat busy. Don't plan to do nothing. That will kill you!

Enjoy your new life!
Retired Oct 1st HA! HA! That just means I work 5 days a week instead of 7. I'll never escape the Honeydo's that have piled up.

If you get bored in your retirement, there are a bunch of refinery retirees that hit the crappie dock at Ponca every morning. They fish, drink coffee, and BS back and forth. Not a bad way to spend the morning.
