That is insane - WTF is wrong with the ATF / process.
Clearly ATF doesn't want to fix it. I e-filed two Form 4's within minutes of each other (a few years ago back when that was an option), but one ended up being approved two weeks before the other... and each with a different examiner's stamp. More recently I had two paper F4s in the system at the same time, submitted about two months apart. Each took almost exactly the same duration to process (like 335 days after cashing the check for one and 334 for the other), but they too were processed separately, again by two different examiners.

Seems to me that one simple step to reduce the backlog would be to check if the applicant has any additional forms in the queue and approve them all at the same time. I know, I know, dream on.

Went by SCI today and bought 4 suppressors. All Silencerco. Bought 2 of the Switchback 22’s, an Omega 300 and a Harvester Big Bore 338. Maybe I’ll have a good Christmas 2020?

By the way, Liz made it super simple. Trust paperwork, prints, pics, ATF forms, all done at once and she takes care of it from there.

My last one took 14 months, on a trust. Got 2 more I'm only a few months in on.

If you got them by Christmas you hit the jackpot

I would hope someone with legal knowledge would find a way to fight the dragging their feet mode.
This is harassment.
There is the Hearing Protection lobby that was doing a pretty good job of lobbying the congress right before the Sandy Hook school shooting.
The lobby tabled the issue and restarted the lobby effort. One week before the congressional vote that looked positive for Hearing Protection lobby, we had the Las Vegas shooting.
Personably, I don't see suppressors ever becoming legal inside the US. Suck it up and pay.
A friend just got back from a safari hunt in South Africa.
Suppressors were $100 on the shelf and you could buy them like a pack of smokes. No Id required.

I got VERY lucky earlier last year. I bought 4 suppressors in June/July and apparently the ATF was experimenting with an expedition process that was fast tracking individual suppressors. I already had one in jail from Oct 18. Well they cleared all 5 at once and I got them all in October. They shut down this program as the trust guys weren't getting the same treatment and complaining. The program apparently fast tracked the applications if there were no errors. So a LOT of the Silencershop guys got their stuff back quick.

AS far as SCI goes, they had a YHM Turbo K there for a great price late last year and I should've bought it. Got my safe from there, they are good people.

Here's an average of wait times right now.
