And, an excellent Lyricist. I’ve seen them a couple of times in concert. There stuff from the late 70s and 80s (2112, Moving Pictures, etc.) was among my favorites.
I never was a big fan of Rush, but Neil Pert was awesome.
The soundtrack to my youth was this mans lyrics and awesome drumming. I started out my music career playing guitar and bass in a jr highschool band with my younger brother on drums and another kid singing/playing guitar,bass and keyboards covering Rush. Loll, we didn't get many dance gigs because the girls couldn't dance to Rush but we did play a lot of other all ages places as well as a lot of parties around San Diego CA. RIP...
My first "real" concert was Rush for the "Power Windows" tour. BOC opened for them. I can't believe he's gone. If you look at my cd/vinyl collection, Rush and Pink Floyd dominate.

He’s been battling brain cancer for the last 3 years. It finally got him. Glad they were inducted into the RR Hall of Fame in 2015 so that he could celebrate the accomplishment.

Just talked to my brother(the drummer) he’s seen them 6 times. My brother is only 50! That means he’s been to literally every tour rush has done since he’s (bro) has been alive. I had no idea, I mean, I knew he was a fan, but damn!
I'm in mourning being a Canadian he is a icon and a god amongst us. I've seen them 18 times no ****. They always toured all over Canada. I say them with their first drummer John rutsey . I still prefer their early stuff. they played alot of high schools and the such. Rest in peace Neil you will be missed time to put on some caress of steel
