Probably the greatest rock drummer ever.
And, Geddy Lee has one of the most unique voices in rock.

I saw Rush in 1977 or 78, they opened for Uriah Heep.
Just an absolute wall of sound. They were always a working band, almost always touring.

Back in those days one could smoke indoors at the concerts. I remember (barely) the fog of cannabis smoke at all those concerts.
The vents on the roof probably made the arena look like a steel mill from the outside, all the smoke coming from the exhaust fans.

So sad. He was a motorcycle riding, Demigod drummer.
I’ll be listening to a few songs later.
Yes, toured the world on mostly BMW GS. I was never a huge Rush fan but followed the riding side. Many times he would ride his bike instead of the tour bus.

I'm with you - I listened to a lot of Rush last week and earlier this week. Sirius XM had a Rush tribute channel (Deep Tracks) that ended yesterday. I heard renditions of live songs that I had never heard before.

Very Cool - you were there from the beginning. It was another 5 years before I heard the music and decades before I saw them live.

It's been a little while since I commented. I heard them from the beginning...a lot of awesome concerts I attended. RUSH was a thing for me for some reason. And I think it had to do with Neil. Was a great soul who had to deal with a lot! I'll miss him.
