Also in the preamble of the EPA. That gov agency had zero ability to regulate environmental issues on sovereign Native American lands.
As an example back in May with our floods in Osage county, a tank battery on the neighbor was flooded with thousands of gallons of crude spilled on our property adjacent to our water well because of zero containment and improper installation of the tanks that I documented with pics on this forum, our water well was contaminated. Here it is in January and we are still living with gallons of water bought from the store or refilled at friends homes.
We have zero recourse against the tribe. I could go on for hours about what the issues were and the responses we got from the tribe
To date, the tank battery was quickly repaired and huge clumps of crude oil continue to exist on our property. The .gov and the tribe has washed their hands of this issue, and here we are.
We have been told the crude will dissolve back into the earth.
HMMMMM MY water well is only 15’ deep. How long before all the hydro carbons leach out of the soil?
Years ago tv commercials showed a Native American shedding tears because of littering. Now, they only shed tears over losing money not destruction of the land.

Random fun fact separate from whatever this thread has become... Iron Eyes Cody, the crying indian in the classic commercial was Italian. Not a drop of native blood in him. Just a pretty good talent born and raised in Hollywood.

Patently no. It’s not a class of citizen. It’s a citizen of both the State and their tribal Nation. Dual citizenship, basically. The Nations are effectively peers of the State, as far as powers and their ability to govern go. And they coexist with the State where their lands overlay.
Maybe we can get them their original land in florida back to em

I'm fairly certain he was Sicilian, not Italian.

We may not think there is a difference, but the Sicilians sure do.

What passes here in OK for gaming is a far cry from what real gaming entertainment is.

Ain't that the truth..... I won't step foot in them unless I have to. Even the non-smoking areas still smell like a stale cigarette....they're garbage. Low end Vegas casinos are way better. I'd love to see them open up competition.

With all the casinos already in the state I don't see any big time players wanting to come here for the little slice they would get.

Don't most of the "big time players" already have a stake in the management of the larger tribal casinos? I know years ago that when they were being built near Chilocco that there were outside management corps involved to get them going for the Tonkawa Tribe.

Seriously? Who told you that the EPA doesn't have jurisdiction on tribal land? Because based on this they are wrong.

I know for sure that the EPA provides grants to tribes so they can form their own "EPA" departments. At least the Navajo Nation formed their office that way.
