69 Impala, with milk crates as seats. That was mine and my best friends. I guess my first car that was just mine was a 77 Firebird. From a dead stop, a person on foot could out run it for about 20 yards.lol

1976 Jeep CJ-5. Orange with rattle can black interior, brown Levi Strauss seats, and blue top. It was a study in color. But it had a 304 V8, three on the floor, and side pipes. Sounded great and could spin the rear tires in all gears. Surprised quite a few people at the stop light ;)

I believe ya!
A friend of mine once had a 78 or 79 Jeep CJ5 with the 304, but I think it was a 4 spd, it may have been a 3 spd, I can't remember cause I never got to drive it, but like you said - it would spin those big ol' tires thru all the gears.

1967 Ford Cobra 427 had it for only couple hours. After roasting the tires a few times I was doing about 150 mph and right before rear tires lost traction then rolled 12-15 times I woke up from a dream. Had a couple of yall drooling for a second. On a more truthful note it was a 1972 GMC Sprint. Tore it completely up as much as 16 year old can.

My dad was very good friends with a Ford dealer around 1970. We had a Ford station wagon that he took into the dealership to have some work done, and it was going to take a couple days.

The dealer loaned him his own ‘70 Boss 429 Mustang in the meantime. My mom was not pleased: “Now what will we use to get the kids around?” We kids managed to stuff ourselves in the back seat :D

Perplexed, your story put a smile on my face. As a teenager I had a friend without a car who needed a ride to his girlfriends birthday party. We was the only two guys at the party. To keep it short the girls wanted pizza. We was about 2 miles from Pizza Hut so we piled into my car, myself, my buddy, and 12 teenage girls! The car, a 1970 Mustang fastback 302 with a 3 speed on the floor. Uncomfortable but the most fun drive in my life. I bet no one in that car will ever forget that 4 mile round trip!

1970 GTO was my first car(I think I paid $1200 for it) 400 big block with a RV cam and a holley 750 double pump up top with headers, I got a bit stupid on a our gravel road and ripped the exhaust off, the sound was amazing. That car was always heat soaking and eating alternators. So I bought a 84 fiat spider for my last year of high school.
