I learned a long time ago, people live in what they want to live in. I had a friend who was married and had a dog. If they had a meal they left the plate wherever they could find a spot on the floor. Chicken bones, trash, molding milkshakes old pizza boxes and roaches everywhere. The dog went on the floor wherever he wanted too. When I visited them I held my breath when I went inside and had to very carefully pick my spots to walk. Needless to say my visits were very brief.

That's why I cannot stand flippers. They hurt the first time homeowner that is handy with his hands and could use a fixer upper. The flipper usually puts back builder's grade tile, carpet, flooring, etc to cheapen the remodel so it looks good. At least the plumbing and electrical have to be done according to code.
I looked at a house in Kiefer that was an obvious quick flip. It was maybe 1200sq.ft, with two bedrooms and two "Jack and Jill" bathrooms that were joined by the utility room. (I mean, seriously, who wants to go past the crapper to do their laundry or get something out of the deep freeze?)

About half of the house was the living room and kitchen; it was a nice, open space, but there was no expense that hadn't been spared, no corner that hadn't been cut. When you looked out the back door to the deck, not one of the balusters on the railing was parallel with its neighbor (or any other baluster), and most of them looked like they'd be more at home in an archery shop.

All I could say about that place was at least they made up for the cheap materials with shoddy workmanship...and they wanted $90K for it!

I swear the OP's pictures are of a house I worked on a few years back when I worked with a group of church builders (plus some charitable stuff, as well). Only thing was, it wasn't a water leak, per se; it was a sewer leak. Second worst job I ever had. And, it was for free.
