I was filling a feeder in ks once and left ATV running, as I was rolling up corn sacks the feeder threw. I put the sacks under a bungee on the atv rack, looked over and here come 5 does running down the hill, was kind of surprised. They stopped at the fence, I drove off and when I got to the top of the hill that overlooking the canyon, I looked back and they were under the feeder already.

Kansas is where we were at at the time when the guide mentioned this . . . back in 2012.

Going to need a lot of repair on the truck ?........last time I hit a deer with a pickup it cost me a bunch of $$$ for a new grille, radiator, headlights etc.
Hope you didn’t bust up your truck too bad!!!
Luckily it was only about took one out. I saw it coming from the ditch and slammed on the brakes as it darted out in front of me. It turned to run straight down the road in front of me. She was scooting along pretty good and kicked up some gravel that bounced on the hood and windshield.

This “target” buck survived, but he broke off 9 points and probably lost close to a hundred pounds. I’m really excited to see the headgear he will grow this year.:thumb:

I finally got a couple deer heads hung in my OK house.

Holy smokes, that deer on the right is a giant.
That’s the only “trophy” buck my Dad ever killed. He’s got a giant frame and gross scores 150”, but he’s actually 10 inches smaller that the middle buck. The buck on the left was killed on my place but by my uncle. My son mounted it for him, and I got it when I bought this house.
