That million dollar highway is spooky as well. People drive it like they are on a superhighway with shoulders. At least they have guardrails now. Our first trip to Ouray in the 80’s was a white knuckle drive.
Just outside of Ouray, there is a cable stretched across the canyon with a cabin on the other side. The only access is on that cable. All building materials were delivered on that cable and there is a little pullout where the residents park their vehicle and access the cabin via the cable.
I’m assuming it is a motorized trolly.
Heck of a way to get home after work!

Since we are on the topic. I've heard the Beartooth Hwy is incredible. Has some very steep grades and switchbacks but the scenery is unmatched. Sort of South West/Central MT area. Look it up. Hope to drive it in the next Summer or two.

You’re right. I’ve had the pleasure of riding it 4 times. Some technical roads but outstanding scenery and some parts you can play on. Stop at Top of The World and get a coffee or coke. I passed some Harley riders once, stopped at the store, and passed them again later. One of my favorite roads in America.

Here, but occasionally There.
Gonna have to research the Beartooth Highway. We'll be working again this year for the same company we worked for last Summer, but Spring of 2021, we are planning on moving the RV and ourselves up to southern Idaho near relatives in Mountain Home. We plan on using that area to do trips into eastern Washington and Oregon, northern Utah, and western Wyoming and Montana. Youngest son wants to go up for his vacation and us all go to Yellowstone. (He loves it when we are out traveling like that. He plans his vacations around where we are.)
