Any brand recommendation for a decent 3/8 drive cordless impact? Would like to stay under $200 if possible, as this won't be a "work tool" all the time. Thanks for any input!

I’ve got this set. It’s amazing how far battery technology has come in the last five years. I do use it as an everyday tool and I don’t have to change out the battery very often. I think you can get just the impact for around $165. It’s always cheaper to get a combo of some sort.

I’ve got several of the Kobalt 24v tools from Lowe’s. I’m pretty happy with them. I don’t have their 3/8 impact but I wouldn’t be scared to buy it if I needed one.
Bare tool is $99
Battery depending on AH you want $30-$99
Fast charger $43
Like DLBleak said, you could buy one of their combos for what you would give for a medium battery and charger. But, I will also add that the charger they include in the combos these days isn’t the fast charger.

Me too. I keep one of their 1/2” impacts in the truck for changing tires on trailers and the RV.
Also found an adapter that converts it to a drill motor, so keep a set of twist drills and screwdriver bits in the bag for a universal tool set.

If you want an impact driver, take your pick. Cheap and plenty.

If you want a cordless impact wrench (busting lugs and nuts etc...) I lucked into a 20v Ingersoll Rand pretty cheap on Facebook. It's been a beast for me. Can't speak of the others mentioned, no experience with those.

I can't tell you about a 3/8" drive impact gun, but Milwaukee makes a great 1/2" drive impact. IIRC, the bare tool was around $150, but it has been a little while since I bought mine, and I had other Milwaukee tools to provide the batteries and charger.

ETA: I do have the Milwaukee 1/4" hex drive impact, and I've used it with a 3/8" adapter like the one shown above. It works great for a lot of stuff, but it's no replacement for a "true" impact gun, IMHO. It's just not designed for the same kind of work.
